Professional Headshots with Jasmine of Good Things Are Gonna Come: Creativity, Consistency & Seasonal Style

As a photographer, there are some clients who not only bring energy and inspiration to each shoot, but challenge you to grow and experiment. Jasmine, the face behind Good Things Are Gonna Come, is exactly that kind of client. For nearly a decade, we’ve worked together to build vibrant, evolving photo collections that reflect the rhythm of her brand and the changing seasons of her work.

Our most recent headshot session took us back to a familiar spot: the Millennium Bridge in Denver. But like every time we work together, this shoot had its own twist - new looks, a pivot in location, and a fresh creative direction. Here’s a behind-the-scenes look at this session and what makes working with Jasmine a consistently rewarding experience.

Nearly a Decade of Creative Collaboration

Working with Jasmine over the past ten years has been an incredible journey. We've captured everything from dynamic lifestyle portraits and professional headshots to creative seasonal imagery that supports her evolving marketing goals. Whether we're planning a shoot to refresh her website, create content for an upcoming book, or simply update her portfolio with on-brand visuals, our sessions always combine fun energy with professional intention.

Our collaborations are never just about snapping a few portraits and calling it a day. They’re about telling a story through images that highlight both the human and professional side of her brand. We’re always thinking about the bigger picture: How will these images be used? What story do they need to tell? What season or campaign do they align with?

Returning to the Millennium Bridge: New Looks, New Vibes

The Millennium Bridge in downtown Denver has long been one of our go-to locations. It’s bold and architectural, with clean lines and great lighting opportunities throughout the day. In fact, we’ve shot there three or four times over the years, each time bringing something new to the table - a different outfit, a seasonal theme, or a shift in tone.

What makes this bridge a great backdrop for headshots is its consistent shade, perfect for mid-day sessions where lighting can be harsh elsewhere. It allows for flexibility, creativity, and minimal post-processing. That said, this time around, the bridge wasn't looking quite as photogenic as in past shoots - something was off with the lighting and general vibe. Rather than force it, we quickly pivoted to Commons Park just next door.

Commons Park: A Creative Pivot

Commons Park proved to be the perfect alternative. At 3 PM, the park offered just the right amount of shade, and the foot traffic was lighter, making for a more relaxed and open shoot. These little spontaneous decisions often lead to some of the most authentic images and this time was no exception.

The softer lighting, lush greenery, and open spaces gave us plenty of room to play, while still maintaining a clean and professional look suitable for Jasmine’s marketing materials. Even though the location was technically a "plan B," it ended up providing an ideal setting for the slightly more serious tone Jasmine was going for this time - with a few playful moments woven in, of course.

3 Looks in 45 Minutes: Efficient, Expressive, and On-Brand

One of the many things I love about working with Jasmine is how prepared she always is. For this session, she brought three distinct outfits, giving us the opportunity to mix up the mood and tone of her images without needing to change locations.

This variety is key in headshot photography, especially when the client plans to use the images across multiple platforms. Each look offered a different vibe: one more polished and professional, one relaxed and casual, and one somewhere in between. With every change, we shifted our framing and posing to match the tone of the outfit, allowing her final image collection to feel cohesive yet varied.

These small wardrobe tweaks can make a big difference in how an audience perceives a brand. In Jasmine’s case, having both professional headshots and more candid, lifestyle-style portraits ensures her brand feels approachable yet professional.

Why Seasonal Headshots Make Sense

One of the most unique aspects of my work with Jasmine is our shared commitment to creating seasonal portraits. Much like the seasons change, so does her messaging, offerings, and brand aesthetic. Having a bank of images that match the mood and tone of each season gives her marketing an authentic, timely feel.

This approach isn’t just visually appealing, it’s also strategic. Seasonal branding helps keep a business feeling fresh and relevant. Whether she’s launching a spring campaign, updating her fall newsletter, or refreshing her website homepage for the new year, Jasmine always has a set of images that feel aligned with the moment.

If you're a business owner, coach, or creative entrepreneur, seasonal headshot sessions can be an effective and manageable way to stay ahead of your content needs.

The Joy of a Long-Term Client Relationship

When you’ve worked with someone as long as I’ve worked with Jasmine, there’s a deep creative trust that develops. She knows how I work, and I understand her brand, her style, and her goals. That trust opens the door to creative freedom and that’s when the magic really happens.

During our shoots, she’s always open to experimentation. I can suggest a pose or framing, take a few test shots, and quickly shift directions if it’s not working. There’s no pressure, just a shared desire to capture images that feel genuine, beautiful, and true to her brand.

This kind of collaborative environment not only leads to better photos, it makes the whole experience more enjoyable for both of us. We shared plenty of laughs during this session, and by the end of our 45 minutes together, we had a diverse, on-brand set of images ready to go.

How Jasmine Uses Her Headshots

For entrepreneurs like Jasmine, headshots are more than just profile pictures - they’re a key piece of the brand puzzle. She uses the images we create across a wide range of platforms, including:

  • Her website homepage and “about” page

  • Email newsletters and client outreach

  • Marketing materials and digital promotions

  • Printed books, guides, and workbooks

  • Social media profiles and content

Because of this, we always aim to create a versatile mix of professional and playful images - headshots that can serve multiple purposes and feel cohesive no matter where they appear.

If you’re planning a headshot session for your own brand, think about how you want to use your photos ahead of time. Knowing whether you need a clean background for a website banner, or a powerful image for a book jacket, can help guide the entire shoot.

Takeaways for Anyone Booking a Headshot Session

Whether you’re a seasoned entrepreneur like Jasmine or someone just starting out, a great headshot session can make a big impact. Here are a few tips I’ve learned from our ongoing work together:

  1. Plan for variety: Bring a few outfit options to get a range of looks in a single shoot.

  2. Think seasonally: Refresh your images a few times a year to keep your content current.

  3. Choose the right location: Look for settings that match your brand’s tone and be open to last-minute pivots if needed.

  4. Collaborate with your photographer: Share your goals, and trust the creative process.

  5. Relax and have fun: A laid-back attitude always leads to more authentic photos.

Looking Ahead: More Good Things to Come

As always, working with Jasmine reminded me why I love what I do. Every session brings a new challenge, a new story to tell, and a new batch of images that I’m proud to deliver. Whether we’re shooting on a bridge, in a park, or in an unexpected alleyway, the goal is always the same: to create meaningful, professional headshots that reflect the spirit and strength of the person in front of the lens.
